Did you write a dispute letter to the credit unions or to the company reporting the “mysterious items”? It sounds like you wrote to the credit unions. What I would do is review what the credit unions said about their findings. Next find the address of the “mysterious items” and write THEM directly asking for WRITTEN PROOF including your signature on the contract. Furthermore I would send a similar letter to the credit unions vehemently saying that the items were not yours and ask them to provide you with WRITTEN PROOF, including your signature on the contract. I believe if you ask for a copy of the contract they must provide it to verify the account and if they cannot, it should come off your report. Hope that helps. Let me know. I’m going to write another post soon about what to do if you’re positive the items are not yours and they (the negative accounts) will not come off your report. I have a few items on my credit report that are mysterious. They are accounts for which I do not remember ever receiving a bill and thus I disputed these items and requested a bill. Though I’ve disputed these items a couple of times I’ve yet to receive a bill nor has the item come off my credit report. Could you suggest a next step?
