Send A Free Text Online Using Your Own Email
Tired of thumbing out all of your texts and paying up to 15 cents to do it? Well here’s a really simple way to send a free text online, to any cell provider, using your own private email account. Actually there are two ways, both simple, but I’ll strongly recommend the first because it’s easier.
The first and easiest way to send a free online text is to use teleflip. Here’s all you need to do:
- Open your email account and click to compose an email
- Input your recipients area code and phone number (no spaces or dashes)
- then place @teleflip.com after the number
- Your final “To:” field should look like this. 4685556345@teleflip.com
Using teleflip is great because you can send to almost ANY cell phone provider without having to know which particular provider your recipient uses. Keep your subject field short and your total message to less than 100 characters and you’re good to go.
The second way requires you to know what cell-phone provider your recipient is using. Obviously this can cause a problem from time to time if you don’t know! (The only real benefit I see is that with this method you’ll usually get 160 characters and with teleflip you only get 100.) But if you do, here’s how to send a free text through your recipients cell phone provider. Start off following the instructions above only instead of adding @teleflip.com after your recipients phone number use the info below.
- For AT&T users: @txt.att.net
- For Verizon users: @vtext.com
- For Sprint users: @messaging.sprintpcs.com
- For T Mobile users: @tmomail.net
- For nextel users: @messaging.nextel.com
Thanks for the tips, I’m sick and tired of paying so much to send texts!!
